NANO Nuclear Energy is deeply saddened at the loss of a respected national patriot and Chairman of our Executive Advisory Board, Former U.S. Secretary of Energy, U.N. Ambassador and Gov. William B. Richardson. He was a governmental and policy innovator in, and fierce advocate, for NANO’s area of focus – clean, sustainable nuclear energy. NANO was honored to be associated with Sec. Richardson, and his contributions to our company and its plans, including valuable introductions, advice and validation, will be both impactful and sorely missed.
Sec. Richardson’s story is an inspiration to the NANO team and to so many. He is a former American politician, author, and diplomat who served as the 30th governor of New Mexico from 2003 to 2011. He was also the U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations and Secretary of Energy in the Clinton administration and a U.S. Congressman. As U.S. Energy Secretary, he helped found the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA). We were thrilled to find out last week he was nominated for the Noble Peace Prize for his efforts to free hostages and political prisoners around the world.
Below are some photos of a recent trip to Washington, D.C. with Sec. Richardson, NANO founder and Executive Chairman Jay Yu, James Walker, CEO and head of Nuclear Reactor Development, and other members of the NANO Executive Advisory Board and team. We will honor Sec. Richardson by continuing in his memory to advance the cause of developing and commercializing smaller, cheaper and safer advanced portable carbon free energy solutions utilizing proprietary reactor designs, intellectual property and research methods.
Sec. William B. Richardson was recently nominated by 4 U.S. Democratic Senators for the Nobel Peace Prize. “In their nominating letter to the Norwegian Nobel Committee, the lawmakers touted Richardson’s central role in the liberation of 15 political prisoners, including professional basketball player Brittney Griner and former U.S. Marine Trevor Reed, both repatriated after high-stakes prisoner swaps with Russia.”
Thank you, Bill, for your service to our great nation and for your efforts on behalf of NANO Nuclear Energy.
