Position Responsibilities:

As a Probabilistic Risk Assessment (PRA) Engineer you will:

  • Develop and maintain PRA models of nuclear plant design and operational capabilities
  • Contribute to developing the integrated PRA framework
  • Understand and execute PRA fundamental skills in Data, Human Reliability Analysis, Accident analysis, Severe Accidents, and Source Term assessments
  • Use tools and methods to identify and characterize accident & event sequences
  • Analyze regulatory-driven requirements to develop risk-informed solutions
  • Use integrated nuclear plant knowledge to assist in risk-informed design decisions aimed to improve plant performance and value
  • Interface with other engineering disciplines to drive reliability and safety into nuclear plant design

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Master of Science degree (or higher) in Nuclear Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or other relevant engineering domains.
  • Minimum 5 years cumulative experience in PRA model development, safety basis or safety analysis.
  • Fundamental knowledge for this position includes data management, human reliability analysis, accident analysis, severe accidents, source term assessments and related analytical skills

Desired Characteristics:

  • M.Sc. in an engineering discipline
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in one or more of the following: Importance Analysis, Uncertainty Analysis, and Failure Modes & Effects Analysis
  • General knowledge of Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 PRAs
  • Experience with PRA software such as RiskSpectrum or CAFTA
  • Detailed knowledge in reactor operation and safety analysis
  • Experience with Regulatory Processes (e.g., Reg Guide 1.247, ASME/ANS PRA Standards, 10 CFR 53, 10 CFR 50.65 and 50.69, NEI 18-04…)

Director of Regulatory Affairs and Reactor Licensing

We are looking for a high energy, enthusiastic, and experienced nuclear professional to be the Director of Regulatory Affairs and Reactor Licensing. This individual will be responsible for developing and maintaining the corporate infrastructure for quality, regulatory affairs and reactor licensing and their implementation to further Nano’s vision for licensing and deployment of its microreactor product line: KRONOS-MMR™, LOKI-MMR™, and ZEUS™. The Director’s initial focus and responsibility will be to ensure the successful implementation of Nano’s current KRONOS-MMR projects in the United States and Canada. To support these, primary familiarity and experience with NRC quality and licensing requirements associated with 10 CFR Parts 50 and 52 are expected and additional familiarity with and experience with Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) quality and licensing requirements are desired. To support Nano’s vision, the Director will also be responsible for assembling and developing project teams to support potential design certification and/or manufacturing license efforts associated with Nano’s reactor product line for deployment in the US, Canadian, and international markets.

Director of Regulatory Affairs and Reactor Licensing

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure appropriate coordination and interaction with other Nano organizations (e.g., Corporate, Finance, HR, Engineering, etc.) to ensure successful implementation of Nano’s vision.
  • Provide direction and guidance to Nano staff and contractors performing quality, regulatory affairs and licensing activities associated with Nano’s reactor product line.
  • Act as the primary interface with the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and other applicable regulatory agencies (e.g., CNSC).
  • Facilitate and lead interactions, meetings, and communications with regulatory bodies to ensure compliance and alignment with regulatory expectations including pre-application activities relating to the company’s current projects and it’s reactor technologies.

We are looking for highly skilled Licensing Engineers with expertise in licensing research and test reactors and power reactors to support our current and future KRONOS MMR™ microreactor projects.  Experience with NRC licensing requirements in 10 CFR Part 50 and 10 CFR Part 52 and associated NRC guidance is expected.  Additional familiarity with NRC guidance and industry developments associated with advanced non-light water reactors is a significant enhancement for prospective applicants. Licensing Engineers

  • Develop licensing documents (e.g., Topical Reports, PSAR, FSAR, etc.) in accordance with applicable NRC guidance and established project commitments and schedules.
